Lodge Camp Training

​The course is designed to prepare volunteers who work with young or inexperienced Girl Scouts to lead them on their first overnight camping experience in a lodge. You will gain confidence in your ability to work with girls to plan, implement and evaluate a trip to a Girl Scouts of Western Ohio lodge or an overnight trip. Progression, safety and outdoor activities will be discussed. 

Cost: There is no cost for this training. 

Who can take this course? Troop leaders, co-leaders and other registered adults who are participating in a troop out-of doors experience. One registered adult per troop is required to complete this training at a Girl Scouts of Western Ohio lodge or other indoor camp facility. 

Course Options
Classroom: This traditional style of training is led by volunteer council trainers at various locations throughout the council’s geographic area. The benefits of this type of training include being able to discuss the content with other volunteers, share your own ideas and experiences, and receive feedback from the other participants and the trainer.

Campin’ 101:  First time camper?  Let us ease you into it! This opportunity allows you to camp with your girls and learn beginning camp skills together and meet new friends at the same time. During this program at least one person from each troop will receive lodge camp training.
