Nestled along the banks of the scenic Maumee River just outside of Defiance, Ohio, Camp Edward Drummond Libbey has almost 350 acres of fields, forests and ravines. This modern facility includes hot running water and flush toilets in all living units (lodges or tents). Camp staff instructs a variety of program activities for girls that include swimming, archery, crafts, hiking, nature and environmental activities, a low and high challenge course, and much more. When not participating in a selected activity, troops can use their own time to pursue badge or Girl ScoutJourney requirements, or plan their own activities.
Grades 1 and up
Camp Libbey TAC includes a two night session and a three night session for troops to choose from. Both sessions provide the ideal opportunity for first-time camping troops, or any troops that want to enjoy Camp Libbey during the summer. For both sessions, girls will plan their own camp activities with the help of their leaders to create a camp experience that is just right for them. Activities to choose from include swimming, arts and crafts, nature activities and hiking, campfires, climbing wall, archery and much more. Older girls have the opportunity to “hang around” on the high challenge course and zip down the awesome zip line. The best part is making new friends as you meet other girls or share your unit with other troops.
