It has come to our attention that there is misinformation circulating about the status of Camp Rolling Hills, so we would like to take this opportunity to set the record straight.
Earlier this year Girl Scouts of Western Ohio had to make some difficult decisions to cut expenses that included a hiring freeze, closing the pool at Stonybrook and resting Rolling Hills through the end of the year. These cuts were based on some significant decreases in revenue that were the result of the ongoing sluggish economy, including across the board cuts made by several large United Ways and lower than expected cookie sales.
It was and still is our plan to re-open Camp Rolling Hills in early 2014. We are developing plans to ensure that the council has the revenue to fully operate and maintain Rolling Hills, Stonybrook and other valued program opportunities.
Our first commitment and our top priority for investment are to always support great program experiences for girls. We look forward to continuing to work with you to serve the girls and volunteers of our council. Please feel free to contact firstname.lastname@example.org
