Valley Exotics
Valley Exotics offers educational animal displays for your troop’s educational needs with 45 minute presentation about animals.  Depending on the size of your group, those present will be able to get up close and touch animals that they may have only seen in books or on television.  They share information about each animal they bring and teach the audience about the animals so that they will appreciate and respect all animals. Operation Happy Sock, a popular animal project completed by hundreds of Girl Scout troops each year, has made its FREE “Info Kit” available
here.


Ritter Planetarium & Brooks Observatory
Girl Scout Sky Search Badge – Tailor-made to the requirements of the Girl Scout Junior Sky Search Badge. Scouts receive a workbook and the information needed to complete the Sky Search Badge. Each troop receives a star and planet locator. If weather permits, a special private observing session at the observatory is offered. Program begins at 6:30 pm and lasts 2 ½ - 3 hours. $10/person. Dagaz Acres Leadership Center, Rising Sun, IN

Looking for fun group outings in the great outdoors? Well, look no further. Rising Sun, Indiana is now home to the new Dagaz Acres Leadership Center and Zipline adventure course. Dagaz meaning “transformational breakthrough change” the first of its kind in the tri-state, Dagaz Acres state-of-the-art zipline and challenge course offers an eco-adventure tour unlike any other. The adventure begins with a climb to the tree tops of Southeastern Indiana and continues over scenic valleys and ravines in a way you’ve never experience before. Strapped safely in a secure ½ body harness and accompanied by professional guides, you’ll soar over 100 feet off the forest floor. The adventure course * includes:

  • Five dual zip lines covering 1 ½ miles on 23 acres

  • Burma Bridge

  • Two canopy zip lines
    Red point descent
    *The zip line adventure course is for adventurers 60 to 250 pounds. Participants must weigh a minimum of 60 pounds and be 10 years of age.

The low ropes challenge course consisting of 9 elements provides a learning environment for building communication, trust, teambuilding, leadership, problem solving and self-esteem. Each activity is fun, focused and exciting!

Maumee Bay Triathlon and Duathlon Volunteer and Stipend Opportunity
Maumee Bay Triathlon and Duathlon, June 21, 2009
2009 recruiting begins earlier this year.  All volunteer groups receive official volunteer T-shirts and a monetary stipend.   The more people in your group, the larger the stipend you will receive.
Our 2009 HFP race schedule is posted online at
www.hfpracing.com.  You can sign up your group for one or more event(s) by selecting the race(s) you would like to help with, and replying to Amy Pausch (number below) with the name and date of the race, as well as the name of your group and number of participants. Selections will be confirmed (as long as the date has not already been filled) with details regarding work assignments and times.  Thank you so much for considering HFP as you plan your calendar.
