The
Girl Scout leadership program helps girls discover the world
around them, connect with peers and mentors, and take action to
make the world a better place. The Girl Scout Leadership
Experience program teaches girls to find their own voices, to
speak up for themselves and to speak out for others.
In Girl Scouts, girls learn how to set and achieve goals. Girl
Scouts have unique learning styles, define leadership
differently and want to make a difference in our world. Girls
gain specific knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors through
girl-led activities. Most of all, Girl Scouts learn values that
endure and experience activities that are just right for today’s
girls.
“Leadership is knowing what you
believe and putting it into action.”

Girl Scouts of Western Ohio’s
Annual Fund Campaign is for 50,000 girls – for who they are
today, and who they will become. And it provides adult
volunteers with the training and skills they need to lead our
girls into their futures. Your support will help us seize the
opportunity to bring more girls and volunteers into Girl
Scouting and provide them with meaningful and unforgettable
experiences. Please join us and help sustain the traditions that
have changed the lives of tens of thousands of western Ohio
girls for almost 100 years.
Girl Scouts of Western Ohio has a history of careful stewardship
of resources we receive from United Ways, the board and staff,
foundations, Girl Scout families and community donations. It
costs between $300 and $400 per girl, per year to provide the
Girl Scout Leadership Experience program. This includes research
and evaluation to ensure local services address needs of local
girls. Each girl enrolled in a Girl Scouts of Western Ohio
activity benefits from your generosity, through membership
subsidies, troop start-up funds, service unit allocations,
camperships, volunteer training, parent guides and program fees.
“In
Girl Scouts, you do stuff like get donations for those in need.
Like food and supplies. You might pick up litter for your
community…
In Girl Scouts, you get to think of all kinds of ideas…
Girl Scouts have great role models for girls of all ages.”
—a Junior Girl Scout
When you contribute to Girl Scouts
of Western Ohio, you invest in the future of 50,000 girls – and
in your own. Today’s girls will be the CEOs, bankers, doctors,
lawyers, police, engineers, scientists, teachers, parents and
leaders of the future. Your generosity will help girls respect
and appreciate others, make good decisions and develop strong
values. The girls you support today are destined to become women
of courage, confidence, and character, who will make the world a
better place.
